About this Blog

Welcome to the House of Parlance Media Blog

This blog contains writing on a wide range of topics for a wide range of reasons. Most of the posts will flog or endorse the artists and projects directly associated with House of Parlance Media, Inc. But not always. Some posts will concern other matters. Things like new video games, Japanese books and Wayne Newton’s Face.

House of Parlance Media is an independent publisher in Vancouver, Canada. Our offices are located beside a carpet shop and above a business that sells electric scooters.

In 2005 we published Shane Koyczan’s book of poetry, Visiting Hours, and everybody loved it. It’s now going into a 3rd printing and is topping bestseller lists at literary festivals in Scotland, New Zealand, Australia and Canada. He’s amazing. Check out his poems on our jukebox. If you have a chance to see him, do it. Please don’t ask any more questions. Just do it.

We also work in developing and creating books of graphic fiction and/or manga – which is a Japanese way of saying ‘comic book’.

We’ve created and produced the Avril Lavigne’s Make 5 Wishes series for Random House/Del Rey manga line. It was written by the magnificent Joshua Dysart and the art was done by the angelic Camilla D’Errico. Great story, great art. Read the books.

We continue to develop new projects in the worlds of poetry and graphic fiction. We’re working to get some new books of poetry out next year by Kinnie Starr, Anis Mojgani and Mighty Mike McGee as well as other books of sublime beauty.

For more information that’s far more boring than anything you’ll find on this blog please check our website at www.houseofparlance.com.

Thanks! Hope you like what you read.

I have requested that Make 5 Wishes be added to the collection.
