Shane Koyczan vs the Canadian Tourism Commission

In one of the greatest cultural mash-ups in recent Canadian history House of Parlance poet Shane Koyczan and the fine folks at the Canadian Tourism Commission have come together to celebrate and promote Canada in verse.
In a live launch of the CTC’s bold international marketing platform at their new offices in downtown Vancouver Shane dropped his gorgeous poem “We Are More” to a spellbound audience. The poem was commissioned by the CTC as part of their new plan to focus international eyes not only on Canada’s amazing natural beauty but also on our powerful, original artists, poets, musicians and creators of all kinds.
This is just an awesome opportunity for everyone involved. Props to whomever it was at the CTC that decided on this new cultural direction for promoting our country to the world. Let the people of Europe, Asia, Africa and the world witness Shane’s talent and the talent of all the others in this program. I just hope that future tourists don’t expect Shane to be performing in a Halifax saloon and an igloo in Resolute on the same night.
The commute would be tough.
Stay tuned for more info on this because it’s going to be a beautiful thing to watch as it happens. We’ll be posting an mp3 of the poem as soon as we get the OK.
