It’s kind of odd to think that on day like today that’s bright and sunny and relatively warm for February in Vancouver that people are preparing to board airplanes and fly into the frozen hellishness of New York State.  More specifically, Manhattan Island for the 2007 version of the biggest comics convention on the east coast.

This is the second year for the NYCC  and if attendance for last year’s con is any indication it’s going to be packed to overflowing from beginning to end.  Absolutely craziness.  Last year’s crowds were so immense that even people who had purchased advance passes had to be turned away. Eventually the NYPD sent in some city marshals to turn the hordes away en masse.  The Javits Center should be hopping.  Let’s just hope that the plumbing doesn’t break down.

Sandy & Cathy are going to New York for the con and who knows what they’re going to encounter there?  I’ve made a list of people and places to see while they’re there but it may be impossible to do anything other than fall into the flow and hope for the best.

Dallas Middaugh of Del Rey will be there and Make5Wishes will be featured in the Del Rey exhibition booth.
Meanwhile Jay and I have plans for a 3 day go! & hot sake tournament.  Stay tuned for the results.
